Abstract
The Button Slide is a fashion accessory that keeps buttons fastened and provides an additional style accent behind a button. The Button Slide has a flat-faced front and a flat-faced back, an aperture with one open end and a closed curved end, at least two sides, a top, and a bottom marking the opening channel to the aperture. The Button Slide sits on the attaching string of a button, usually between a garment with a fastened button and a garment's buttonhole. Because of its position and shape, the button is unable to accidentally slip through the buttonhole without first removing the Button Slide.
Claims8
A button slide, comprising:
- a flat-faced front;
- a flat-faced back;
- an aperture at a center of the button slide;
- a bottom comprising an opening channel to the aperture;
- an inner wall connecting the flat-faced front and the flat-faced back at an inner portion of the button slide and having a width of approximately 1 millimeter to 2 millimeters;
- and
- an outer wall connecting the flat-faced front and the flat-faced back at an outer portion of the button slide and having a width of approximately 1 millimeter to 2 millimeters, the outer wall comprising a closed end at a top of the button slide opposite the opening channel and at least two sides surrounding the opening channel,
- wherein the button slide is adapted to be worn on an article of clothing or accessory, such that the button slide sits on a string connecting a button to the article, and
- wherein the width of the inner wall and the width of the outer wall create friction between the button and the article to prevent the button from sliding through a corresponding buttonhole on the article.
