Building method

A method of fabricating a structure in situ, the method comprising:

• providing a tensile load bearing net;
• shielding at least a first portion of the tensile load bearing net to substantially block the first portion from receiving a fixative;
• applying a compressive load bearing fixative to at least a second portion of the tensile load bearing net that is unshielded, wherein the fixative hardens the second portion forming a fixed portion while the first portion remains flexible;
• and
• positioning the fixed portion in a desired orientation to form at least a part of the structure.

A method of fabricating a structure in situ, the method comprising:

• providing a flexible fabric having a first portion and a second portion;
• shielding the second portion of the flexible fabric to substantially block the second portion from receiving a fixative;
• applying the fixative to the first portion of the flexible fabric that is unshielded, wherein the fixative hardens the first portion forming a first fixed portion, and wherein the first portion comprises at least one of an entire edge of the flexible fabric, a portion of an edge of the flexible fabric, or a corner of the flexible fabric;
• fixing the first portion directly to a first overhead structure using the fixative;
• positioning the second portion in a desired shape and orientation while the second portion remains flexible;
• and
• applying the fixative to the second portion after the desired shape and orientation are achieved, thereby forming a second fixed portion.
