Quinacridone compound

A method for producing a quinacridone compound including a radioactive carbon atom 14C and having the structure represented by the following formula (B):

• wherein X each independently represents —Cl, —F, —Br, —I, —OH, —NO2, a C1 to C12 alkyl group, a C1 to C12 alkoxy group, a phenyl group, —COOH, —COO—C1 to C12 alkyl, or —CO—NR, R each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or a phenyl group, and n each independently represents 1 or 2,
• the method comprising:
• (B-i) producing an aniline which may have a substituent by using a 4-aminobenzoic acid as a raw material;
• (B-ii) producing dimethyl-2,5-dihydroxycyclohexa-1,4-diene-1,4-dicarboxylate by using succinic acid as a raw material;
• provided that at least one of 4-aminobenzoic acid in (B-i) and succinic acid in (B-ii) is one derived from biomass;
• and
• (B-iii) reacting the aniline which may have a substituent produced in (B-i) with a dimethyl-2,5-dihydroxycyclohexa-1,4-diene-1,4-dicarboxylate produced in (B-ii) to thereby produce the quinacridone compound having the structure represented by the formula (B).
