A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method of controlling an information processing apparatus that can be used at a flat rate during a contract period,

• performing communication with a management apparatus that manages a contract state of the information processing apparatus;
• performing control to restrict functions which are available in the information processing apparatus, based on control information received from the management apparatus, and
• wherein in a case where it is determined, based on the control information, that a payment trouble has occurred in payment for the contract of the information processing apparatus, the control includes control to notify occurrence of the payment trouble.
