Lighting apparatus for a motor vehicle

A lighting apparatus for a motor vehicle, the lighting apparatus comprising:

• at least one light source;
• and
• a light guide having an inlet surface for light generated by the light source and at least one outlet surface for light entering the light guide through the inlet surface,
• wherein the lighting apparatus is configured such that, in the state of the lighting apparatus installed in the motor vehicle, the light generated by the light source at least partially emerges from the lighting apparatus, the emerging light strikes a vehicle body surface of the motor vehicle or a reflection device arranged on a vehicle body surface of the motor vehicle, and the light is at least partially reflected by the vehicle body surface or the reflection device such that it moves away from the motor vehicle, and
• wherein, in the state of the lighting apparatus installed in the motor vehicle, the light guide extends through an opening of the vehicle body of the motor vehicle, at least in sections, and projects from the opening outwardly away from the vehicle body, the at least one outlet surface being arranged outside the vehicle body so that the light emerging from the light guide directly reaches the outer region of the motor vehicle.
