Abstract
A system for implementing a multiplane network comprises a network device including a plurality of switches for routing traffic to an endpoint through a network of other switches. Each switch in the plurality of switches corresponds to a different plane of the multiplane network. The system includes one or more circuits that manages the plurality of switches as a single logical entity.
Claims20
A network device for implementing a multiplane network, comprising:
- a plurality of switches for routing traffic to an endpoint through a network of other switches, each switch in the plurality of switches corresponding to a different plane of the multiplane network;
- and
- one or more circuits manages the plurality of switches as a single logical entity.
A system for implementing a multiplane network, comprising:
- a network device comprising a plurality of switches for routing traffic to an endpoint, each switch in the plurality of switches corresponding to a different plane of the multiplane network;
- a controller that manages the plurality of switches as a single logical entity;
- and
- a network of other switches coupled to the plurality of switches to route the traffic to the endpoint.
A system for implementing a multiplane network, comprising:
- a plurality of switches for routing traffic to an endpoint through a network of other switches, each switch in the plurality of switches corresponding to a different plane of the multiplane network, wherein the endpoint comprises multiple ports connected to the network of other switches;
- and
- one or more circuits that use a same address for the multiple ports of the endpoint to route the traffic to the endpoint through the plurality of switches and the network of other switches.
