Abstract
A textile treatment composition for reducing environmental odors on textile material, a treated article having the textile treatment composition applied thereon, and a method of reducing environmental odors on a textile material is provided. The textile treatment composition includes a ricinoleate salt and an acrylate binder at effective concentrations to reduce environmental odors, such as smoke, on textile materials.

A liquid textile treatment composition for reducing environmental odors on textile material, the liquid textile treatment composition comprising:
- (a) from 5 weight percent to 12.5 weight percent of a ricinoleate salt,
- (b) from 5 weight percent to 15 weight percent of a surfactant,
- (c) from 2.5 weight percent to 25 weight percent of an acrylate binder, and
- (d) water;
- wherein the liquid textile treatment composition reduces volatile isovaleric acid on a treated textile by 72% or greater.
