Claims22
A tray having a first compartment and a second compartment, the tray comprising:
- a central panel having a first opening and a second opening, a first attachment panel foldably connected to the central panel at a first fold line spaced apart from the first opening and the second opening, and a second attachment panel foldably connected to the central panel at a second fold line spaced apart from the first opening and the second opening, the first attachment panel and the second attachment panel being in face-to-face contact with the central panel to form a flange of the tray extending around the first opening and the second opening;
- a first compartment flap and a second compartment flap foldably connected to the central panel adjacent the first opening, a third compartment flap and a fourth compartment flap foldably connected to the central panel adjacent the second opening,
- a first end flap foldably connected to the first attachment panel and a second end flap foldably connected to the second attachment panel, the first end flap comprising a first base portion forming a first side panel of the tray, the second end flap comprising a second base portion forming a second side panel of the tray,
- the first compartment flap, the second compartment flap, the first end flap, and the second end flap cooperate to form the first compartment below the first opening in the central panel,
- the third compartment flap, the fourth compartment flap, the first end flap, and the second end flap cooperate to form the second compartment below the second opening in the central panel.
A blank for forming a tray having a first compartment and a second compartment, the blank comprising:
- a central panel having a first opening and a second opening, a first attachment panel foldably connected to the central panel at a first fold line spaced apart from the first opening and the second opening, and a second attachment panel foldably connected to the central panel at a second fold line spaced apart from the first opening and the second opening, the first attachment panel and the second attachment panel being in face-to-face contact with the central panel to form a flange of the tray formed from the blank and extending around the first opening and the second opening;
- a first compartment flap and a second compartment flap foldably connected to the central panel adjacent the first opening, a third compartment flap and a fourth compartment flap foldably connected to the central panel adjacent the second opening,
- a first end flap foldably connected to the first attachment panel and a second end flap foldably connected to the second attachment panel, the first end flap comprising a first base portion forming a first side panel of the tray formed from the blank, the second end flap comprising a second base portion forming a second side panel of the tray formed from the blank,
- the first compartment flap, the second compartment flap, the first end flap, and the second end flap cooperate to form the first compartment below the first opening in the central panel,
- the third compartment flap, the fourth compartment flap, the first end flap, and the second end flap cooperate to form the second compartment below the second opening in the central panel.
A method of forming a tray having a first compartment and a second compartment, the method comprising:
- obtaining a blank comprising a central panel having a first opening and a second opening, a first attachment panel foldably connected to the central panel at a first fold line spaced apart from the first opening and the second opening, and a second attachment panel foldably connected to the central panel at a second fold line spaced apart from the first opening and the second opening, a first compartment flap and a second compartment flap foldably connected to the central panel adjacent the first opening, a third compartment flap and a fourth compartment flap foldably connected to the central panel adjacent the second opening, a first end flap foldably connected to the first attachment panel and a second end flap foldably connected to the second attachment panel, the first end flap comprising a first base portion forming, the second end flap comprising a second base portion;
- positioning the first attachment panel and the second attachment panel in face-to-face contact with the central panel to form a flange of the tray extending around the first opening and the second opening;
- positioning the first base portion to form a first side panel of the tray and positioning the second base portion to form a second side panel of the tray;
- positioning the first compartment flap, the second compartment flap, the first end flap, and the second end flap to form the first compartment below the first opening in the central panel;
- and
- positioning the third compartment flap, the fourth compartment flap, the first end flap, and the second end flap to form the second compartment below the second opening in the central panel.
