Bolting rig and method for rock reinforcing

A rock bolting rig for installing rock bolts in drill holes for reinforcing a rock surface, the bolting rig comprising:

• a movable carrier;
• at least one bolt storage arranged for storing a plurality of rock bolts and being supported by the carrier;
• at least one bolting boom mounted to the carrier and facing towards an operational direction;
• at least one bolting unit mounted on a distal end portion of the bolting boom and being configured to feed a rock bolt into a drill hole;
• a bolt rack mounted to the bolting unit and being arranged to hold at least one rock bolt;
• at least one pick-up position wherein the plurality of rock bolts are configured to be loaded from the bolt storage to the bolt rack under control of at least one control unit, wherein the pick-up position determines a position and orientation of the bolt storage, wherein the bolt storage supported by the carrier is arranged movably in front of the carrier and is movable to the pick-up position, which is located in front of the carrier in the operational direction;
• the bolt rack including a plurality of parallel storage places for receiving the rock bolts;
• and
• wherein the control unit is configured to control movement of the bolting boom for positioning the bolt rack to the pick-up position in response to the data on position and orientation of the bolt storage.
