Method and apparatus for communicating ue information in ntn

A method for transmitting information by a user equipment (UE) in a non-terrestrial network (NTN), the method comprising:

• subscribing to the NTN with subscription information including user consent for requesting location information of the UE;
• receiving a request for the location information of the UE from a network device;
• and
• transmitting the location information of the UE to the network device, in response to the request.

A network device for receiving information from a user equipment (UE) in a non-terrestrial network (NTN), the network device comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a controller coupled to the transceiver, wherein the controller is configured to:
• identify whether user consent for requesting location information of the UE is required;
• based on identifying that the user consent is required, identify whether the user consent exists;
• based on identifying that the user consent exists, transmit a request for the location information of the UE, to the UE;
• and
• receive the location information of the UE from the UE in response to the request.
