Abstract
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for securely generating biometric user profiles and/or biometric authentication models are provided.
Claims22
A method for authenticating a user of a user electronic device using an identity verification (“IDV”) bridge instance and a biometric authentication subsystem, the method comprising:
- receiving, at the IDV bridge instance, user enrollment biometrics of the user;
- generating, at the IDV bridge instance, IDV biometric user profile (“BUP”) data based on the user enrollment biometrics;
- communicating a server biometric profile portion (“SBPP”) of the IDVBUP data from the IDV bridge instance to the biometric authentication subsystem;
- and
- communicating a user biometric profile portion (“UBPP”) of the IDVBUP data from the IDV bridge instance to the user electronic device.
A method for authenticating a user of a user electronic device using an identity verification (“IDV”) bridge instance and a biometric authentication subsystem, the method comprising:
- receiving, at the IDV bridge instance, user enrollment biometrics of the user;
- generating, at the IDV bridge instance, IDV biometric user profile (“BUP”) data based on the user enrollment biometrics;
- communicating a server biometric profile portion (“SBPP”) of the IDVBUP data from the IDV bridge instance to the biometric authentication subsystem;
- and
- communicating a user biometric profile portion (“UBPP”) of the IDVBUP data from the IDV bridge instance to the user electronic device, wherein:
- the generating comprises using a first model with a first model configuration for extracting embeddings from the user enrollment biometrics;
- and
- each one of the SBPP and the UBPP comprises data indicative of the first model and the first model configuration.
A method for authenticating a user of a user electronic device using an identity verification (“IDV”) bridge instance and a biometric authentication subsystem, the method comprising:
- receiving, at the biometric authentication subsystem, a server biometric profile portion (“SBPP”) of IDVBUP data generated by the IDV bridge instance based on user enrollment biometrics of the user;
- and
- conducting, at the biometric authentication subsystem, privacy-preserving biometric matching with the user electronic device using the SBPP at the biometric authentication subsystem and a user biometric profile portion (“UBPP”) of the IDVBUP data at the user electronic device to compare the user enrollment biometrics and user authentication biometrics received at the user electronic device.
