Abstract

Described techniques include generation of a host-specific power attribution model for a host comprising components, the host-specific power attribution model relating host metrics characterizing operations of the components to host power consumed by the host. Partitioned host metrics of the host metrics that are associated with a workload being executed by the host may be received, and a workload power of the host power that is used by the workload may be determined using the host-specific power attribution model and the partitioned host metrics.

A computer program product, the computer program product being tangibly embodied on a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and comprising instructions that, when executed by at least one computing device, are configured to cause the at least one computing device to:

generate a host-specific power attribution model for a host comprising components, the host-specific power attribution model relating host metrics characterizing operations of the components to host power consumed by the host;
receive partitioned host metrics of the host metrics that are associated with a workload being executed by the host;
and
determine, using the host-specific power attribution model and the partitioned host metrics, a workload power of the host power that is used by the workload.

at least one processor that is operably coupled to the at least one memory and that is arranged and configured to execute instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to:
generate a host-specific power attribution model for a host comprising components, the host-specific power attribution model relating host metrics characterizing operations of the components to host power consumed by the host;
receive partitioned host metrics of the host metrics that are associated with a workload being executed by the host;
and
determine, using the host-specific power attribution model and the partitioned host metrics, a workload power of the host power that is used by the workload.
