Abstract
A gyroscope bearing system for a marine gyroscope has a bearing unit having an inner ring and an outer ring and a plurality of rolling members arranged between them. The bearing unit is configured to surround and support a part of a flywheel. Ais sleeve arranged around the outer ring. A locking plate is arranged on an inner side of the gyroscope relative to the bearing unit and the sleeve. The locking plate is movable between a first position where a vertical distance is present between the sleeve, the inner ring and a top face of the locking plate, and a second position where the locking plate is abutting the sleeve and the inner ring.

A gyroscope bearing system for a marine gyroscope, comprising
- a bearing unit having an inner ring and an outer ring and a plurality of rolling members arranged between them, the bearing unit being configured to surround and support a part of a flywheel,
- a sleeve arranged around the outer ring,
- wherein a locking plate is arranged on an inner side of the gyroscope relative to the bearing unit and the sleeve, the locking plate being movable between a first position where a vertical distance is present between the sleeve, the inner ring and a top face of the locking plate, and a second position where the locking plate is abutting the sleeve and the inner ring.
