Layered fibrous structures

A layered fibrous structure comprising:

• a. a first layer comprising a wet laid fibrous structure having a plurality of fibrous elements, wherein the first layer comprises a consumer-contacting surface;
• b. a second layer comprising a plurality of PVOH filaments spun directly onto the consumer-contacting surface of the first layer, wherein the plurality of PVOH filaments are present on the consumer-contacting surface of the first layer;
• and
• c. a surface softening composition present on at least a portion of the plurality of filaments;
• wherein the plurality of PVOH filaments of the second layer are bonded to the first layer at an edge-to-edge bond distance measured between two bond sites of at least 3 mm.
