Derailleur hanger assembly and derailleur hanger

A derailleur hanger comprising:

• a first portion including an axle receiving bore configured to receive a hub axle;
• a second portion including a derailleur support surface configured to support a derailleur;
• and
• a third portion connecting the first portion and the second portion to define a main body,
• the main body including a first side facing in a first direction, a second side facing in a second direction, and a peripheral edge disposed between the first side and the second side,
• the main body including a guide configured to aid in attaching and detaching a hub with respect to the derailleur hanger by guiding the hub along the first portion and the third portion,
• the guide including a hub contact surface extending along the first portion and the third portion, and an inclined surface adjacent to a section of the peripheral edge and the inclined surface being inclined relative to the hub contact surface.

A derailleur hanger comprising:

• a first portion including an axle receiving bore configured to receive a hub axle;
• a second portion including a fixing bolt receiving bore configured to receive a fixing bolt to support a derailleur;
• and
• a third portion connecting the first portion and the second portion,
• the first portion, the second portion and a third portion defining a main body having an inner side facing towards a bicycle center plane of a bicycle frame in a mounted state where the derailleur hanger assembly is mounted to the bicycle frame, the inner side including a chain contact surface located adjacent a sprocket tooth of an outermost sprocket of the bicycle in the mounted state, the inner side including an opening definition surface defining an opening of the fixing bolt receiving bore,
• the chain contact surface being disposed in a plane extending perpendicular to an axial direction of the axle receiving bore, the opening definition surface being disposed in the plane, and
• the chain contact surface being spaced from an inward surface of the sprocket tooth of the outermost sprocket by a first axial distance that is smaller than a width of a chain.
