Window assembly and vehicle

A vehicle, comprising:

• a body panel;
• and
• a window assembly supported on the body panel, the window assembly comprising:
• at least one panel supported on the body panel of the vehicle and comprising a peripheral edge;
• and
• a garnish supported on the body panel and comprising an outer surface, an inner surface opposite to the outer surface, a peripheral surface between the inner surface and the outer surface, and at least one engagement structure extending from the inner surface in a direction opposite to the outer surface, the garnish disposed adjacent to the at least one panel, such that the garnish and the at least one panel lie in a same plane and together define a gap therebetween;
• and
• an encapsulation disposed at least partially between the at least one panel and the garnish to cover the gap therebetween, the encapsulation being fixedly coupled to the peripheral edge of the at least one panel, such that the encapsulation and the at least one panel flush with each other, the encapsulation comprising at least one slot configured to at least partially receive the corresponding at least one engagement structure of the garnish in order to couple the encapsulation and the garnish, such that the encapsulation and the garnish flush with each other.

A window assembly for a vehicle having a body panel, the window assembly comprising:

• at least one panel supported on the body panel of the vehicle, the at least one panel comprising a peripheral edge and an encapsulation fixedly coupled to the peripheral edge of the at least one panel, the encapsulation comprising at least one slot;
• and
• a garnish supported on the body panel and disposed adjacent to the at least one panel, such that the garnish and the at least one panel lie in a same plane and together define a gap therebetween, the garnish comprising an outer surface, an inner surface opposite to the outer surface, a peripheral surface between the inner surface and the outer surface, and at least one engagement structure extending from the inner surface in a direction opposite to the outer surface;
• wherein the at least one engagement structure of the garnish is configured to be at least partially received within the corresponding at least one slot of the encapsulation in order to couple the encapsulation and the garnish, such that the encapsulation and the garnish flush with each other, thereby covering the gap between the at least one panel and the garnish.
