Abstract
A process for making polyurethane includes dissolving a metal acetyl acetonate catalyst in a solvent to form a catalyst solution including greater than 0.25 to 42 weight percent, or 4.8 to 42 weight percent, of metal acetyl acetonate catalyst, based on a total weight of the catalyst solution; combining the catalyst solution, a polyol, and an isocyanate to form a reactive mixture; and curing the reactive mixture to form polyurethane.
Claims20
A process for making polyurethane, the process comprising:
- dissolving a metal acetyl acetonate catalyst in a solvent to form a catalyst solution comprising greater than 0.25 to 42 weight percent of metal acetyl acetonate catalyst, based on a total weight of the catalyst solution;
- combining the catalyst solution, a polyol, and an isocyanate to form a reactive mixture;
- and
- curing the reactive mixture to form polyurethane.
The process of 6, wherein the solvent further comprises acetyl acetone.
A process for making polyurethane, the process comprising:
- dissolving a metal acetyl acetonate catalyst in a solvent comprising benzyl alcohol to form a catalyst solution;
- combining the catalyst solution, a polyol, and an isocyanate to form a reactive mixture;
- and
