Abstract
An adaptive guide bushing for laser workpiece cutting systems, the adaptive guide bushing including an elastic member that expands and contracts to hold a workpiece within a central opening for laser cutting.
Claims20
A tube workpiece laser cutting system, comprising:
- a. A guide bushing to coaxially hold a tube workpiece therein, wherein the guide bushing includes an elastomeric material configured to retain the tube workpiece within a central opening of the elastomeric material;
- b. A bushing holder operably coupled with the guide bushing, the bushing holder having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end further comprising a raised holder;
- c. the raised holder further comprising a proximal end and a distal end, and a first opening traversing the proximal end and the distal end, wherein the guide bushing is operably coupled through the raised holder, and wherein the elastomeric material is disposed within the first opening.
An adaptive guide bushing for a laser cutting system, comprising:
- a. A bushing holder having a first end and a second end, a raised feature at one of the first end or the second end, the raised feature having a first opening passing through a thickness of the raised feature;
- and
- b. A guide bushing comprising a first bushing, a second bushing, and an elastomeric material disposed within a central opening passing through the guide bushing, wherein the guide bushing is at least partially disposed within the first opening of the raised feature, and is configured to retain a tubular workpiece within the elastomeric material, the first bushing, and the second bushing.
