Abstract
A cartridge system that is insertable into a base member and operative to complete an electrical circuit through the base member includes an insertion and extraction system for selectively locking the cartridge to the base member, where the insertion and extraction system is integrally formed with a support member of the cartridge. The cartridge system may also include an arc shield for suppressing an arc between electrodes, and a protection element that includes an integrally formed electrode having a weak region that acts as a disconnect means.
Claims20
A voltage suppression device for suppressing voltage surges in an electrical circuit, comprising an overvoltage clamping element having a first electrode and a second electrode, the first electrode and the second electrode operative to pass power through the overvoltage clamping element, wherein at least one electrode of the first electrode or the second electrode includes a region having reduced cross-section relative to other regions of the respective electrode.
