Communication method and device for xr service in wireless communication system

An application function (AF) in a wireless communication system supporting a multi-modal service, the AF comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• identify a multi-modal service identifier related to the multi-modal service,
• provide, to a policy control function (PCF), via a network exposure function (NEF), a request related to the multi-modal service, the request including a multi-modal service identifier (ID) for identifying at least two data for providing a same multi-modal service and quality of service (QoS) related information for each data flow identified by the multi-modal service ID to be applied to each service data flow associated with the at least two data, and
• receive, from the PCF, via the NEF, a response for the request.

A policy control function (PCF) in a wireless communication system supporting a multi-modal service, comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled to the transceiver and configured to:
• receive, from an application function (AF) through a network exposure function (NEF), a request related to the multi-modal service, the request including a multi-modal service identifier (ID) for identifying at least two data for providing a same multi-modal service and quality-of-service (QoS) related information related for each data flow identified by the multi-modal service ID to be applied to each service data flow associated with the at least two data, and
• transmit, to the AF through the NEF, a response for the request.
