Encoding/decoding video picture data

An apparatus comprising means for performing a method of intra-predicting a block of a video picture according to a first intra-prediction mode using a first geometry transform identified by a first geometry transform type, wherein the method comprises:

• determining whether at least one neighboring block is predicted according to a second intra-prediction mode using a second geometry transform identified by a second geometry transform type and;
• if at least one neighboring block is predicted according to the second intra-prediction mode, inferring the first geometry transform type from said second geometry transform type.

A non-transitory storage medium carrying instructions of program code for executing a method of intra-predicting a block of a video picture according to a first intra-prediction mode using a first geometry transform identified by a first geometry transform type, wherein the method comprises:

• determining whether at least one neighboring block is predicted according to a second intra-prediction mode using a second geometry transform identified by a second geometry transform type and;
• if at least one neighboring block is predicted according to the second intra-prediction mode, inferring the first geometry transform type from said second geometry transform type.
