Double-wall battery enclosure to provide heat transfer

A double-wall enclosure for thermal management of a battery pack having one or more battery modules, the enclosure comprising:

• an inner hollow structure having an internal and external surface;
• the inner hollow structure configured to receive the one or more battery modules therein;
• and
• an outer hollow structure having an interior surface, wherein the external surface of the inner hollow structure either contacts the interior surface of the outer hollow structure or forms at least one channel with the interior surface of the outer hollow structure through which a heat transfer fluid flows;
• wherein the inner hollow structure comprises a polymer material, such that the inner hollow structure is in thermal contact with the heat transfer fluid in order to provide for the thermal management of the battery pack.
