Truck-tablet interface

A materials handling vehicle communication system comprising:

• a tablet configurable to be coupled to a materials handling vehicle via a wired connection for communication via a first open standard;
• and
• an embedded information controller, wherein the embedded information controller is operatively configured to:
• receive a first device identification of the tablet over the wired connection via the first open standard;
• store the first device identification in a first memory;
• receive a second device identification of the tablet responsive to a wireless transceiver on the materials handling vehicle wirelessly detecting the second device identification;
• communicably couple the tablet to the materials handling vehicle via a wireless connection for communication via a second open standard where the second device identification matches the first device identification stored in the first memory.
