Beverage serving tray apparatus

A beverage serving tray for securing one or more beverage containers during transport, wherein at least one of the beverage containers has a base and a stem, the beverage serving tray comprising:

• a top surface, a bottom surface, and a platform recess extending from the top surface downwardly towards the bottom surface, the platform recess having a periphery and a wall which extends downwardly from the periphery;
• a depressible platform having an upper surface and a depressible base enclosure, the depressible platform is adapted to be lowered within the platform recess from an unengaged position in which the upper surface is substantially level with the top surface, towards a depressed position in which the depressible platform approaches the bottom surface;
• the depressible base enclosure has a base enclosure outer surface which is positioned above the upper surface of the depressible platform, a base enclosure side wall which connects the base enclosure outer surface to the upper surface, an interior space disposed therebetween, and a side wall opening which allows access to the interior space, the base enclosure outer surface further has a stem slot extending inwardly above the side wall opening;
• wherein the side wall opening is adapted to allow the base of the beverage container to pass into the interior space and the stem slot is adapted to allow the stem of the beverage container to pass through the depressible base enclosure outer surface;
• and
• wherein the depressible platform is adapted to secure the base of the beverage container within the interior space when the depressible platform is lowered to the depressed position.

A beverage serving tray for securing a beverage container during transport, the beverage container has a base and a stem, the beverage serving tray comprising:

• a top surface, a bottom surface, and a platform recess extending from the top surface downwardly towards the bottom surface, the platform recess having a recess perimeter, a wall which extends downwardly from the recess perimeter, and a recess lower surface, the platform recess is adapted to receive the base of the beverage container such that the base rests against the recess lower surface;
• a plurality of pivoting retaining flaps, each pivoting retaining flap comprises a retaining flap outer surface, a retaining flap inner surface, and a hinge which pivotably connects the pivoting retaining flap to the recess perimeter, the plurality of pivoting retaining flaps are adapted to pivot between a lowered position in which the platform recess is covered by the pivoting retaining flaps, and a raised position in which the platform recess is revealed, each of the pivoting retaining flaps further has a stem opening adapted to accommodate the stem of the beverage container when the pivoting retaining flap is placed in the lowered position;
• wherein the retaining flap outer surface of each pivoting retaining flap is substantially flush with the top surface of the beverage serving tray when placed in the lowered position;
• and
• wherein the pivoting retaining flaps secure the base of the beverage container within the platform recess when placed in the lowered position.
