Transmission power in wireless communication systems

A user equipment (UE), comprising:

• a transceiver configured to receive information for uplink (UL) transmissions and downlink (DL) receptions on a cell;
• and
• a processor operably coupled with the transceiver, the processor configured to:
• determine, based on the information, a first UL duty cycle associated with a first UL transmission in a first subset of slots from a set of slots on the cell;
• determine, based on the information, a second UL duty cycle associated with a second UL transmission in a second subset of slots from the set of slots on the cell;
• and
• determine a first UL transmit power and a second UL transmit power based on the first and second UL duty cycles, respectively,
• wherein the transceiver is further configured to perform an UL transmission in a slot based on the first UL transmit power or the second UL transmit power.

A base station (BS), comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit information for uplink (UL) transmissions and downlink (DL) receptions on a cell;
• and
• a processor operably coupled with the transceiver, the processor configured to:
• determine, based on the information, a first UL duty cycle associated with a first UL transmission in a first subset of slots from a set of slots on the cell;
• determine, based on the information, a second UL duty cycle associated with a second UL transmission in a second subset of slots from the set of slots on the cell;
• and
• determine a first UL transmit power and a second UL transmit power based on the first and second UL duty cycles, respectively,
• wherein the transceiver is further configured to receive an UL transmission in a slot, wherein the UL transmission is based on the first UL transmit power or the second UL transmit power.
