A battery module assembly for a battery pack, the battery module assembly having a longitudinal extension in a longitudinal direction, a width extension in a width direction and a height extension in a height direction, the battery module assembly comprising at least two battery modules arranged on top of each other in the height direction with a first battery module adjacently arranged on top of a second battery module,

• each battery module comprises a plurality of battery cells,
• the battery cells of each battery module are stacked together along the longitudinal direction,
• each battery module comprises at least two crossbeam members extending in the width direction between outer sides of the battery module,
• the battery module assembly further comprises a plurality of guide pins,
• the plurality of guide pins is arranged to align the first battery module and the second battery module along the height direction.
