Generating temporally-unrelated search term recommendations

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• identifying temporally unrelated terms that occur in a set of training events, wherein the temporally unrelated terms are identified from the set of training events based on occurrences of the temporally unrelated terms being outside of a predetermined period of time relative to occurrences of candidate terms in the set of training events;
• generating a temporal map associated with the set of training events, the temporal map associating the candidate terms with the identified temporally unrelated terms that occur in the set of training events outside of the predetermined period of time relative to the candidate terms;
• and
• using the temporal map to identify one or more temporally unrelated term recommendations that suggest new search terms for performing a search.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media having instructions stored thereon, wherein the instructions, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to:

• identify temporally unrelated terms that occur in a set of training events, wherein the temporally unrelated terms are identified from the set of training events based on occurrences of the temporally unrelated terms being outside of a predetermined period of time relative to occurrences of candidate terms in the set of training events;
• generate a temporal map associated with the set of training events, the temporal map associating the candidate terms with the identified temporally unrelated terms that occur in the set of training events outside of the predetermined period of time relative to the candidate terms;
• and
• use the temporal map to identify one or more temporally unrelated term recommendations that suggest new search terms for performing a search.

A computing device comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a memory coupled with the one or more processors, the memory having instructions stored thereon, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
• identify temporally unrelated terms that occur in a set of training events, wherein the temporally unrelated terms are identified from the set of training events based on occurrences of the temporally unrelated terms being outside of a predetermined period of time relative to occurrences of candidate terms in the set of training events;
• generate a temporal map associated with the set of training events, the temporal map associating the candidate terms with the identified temporally unrelated terms that occur in the set of training events outside of the predetermined period of time relative to the candidate terms;
• and
• use the temporal map to identify one or more temporally unrelated term recommendations that suggest new search terms for performing a search.
