Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus that forms a toner image on a sheet, the image forming apparatus comprising:

• an apparatus main body having an opening portion;
• an opening and closing member, wherein in a closed position the opening and closing member covers the opening portion, and in an opened position the opening and closing member uncovers the opening portion;
• a fixing unit detachable from and supported by the apparatus main body via the opening portion, the fixing unit including a heating unit configured to heat the toner image formed on the sheet and a pressure roller, wherein a fixing nip for nipping the sheet is formed by the pressure roller and the heating unit;
• a pair of conveyance rotation members configured to form a conveyance nip for nipping and conveying the sheet, with the pair of conveyance rotation members being arranged to convey the sheet with the fixing nip, and with the pair of conveyance rotation members being arranged on the apparatus main body downstream of the fixing unit in a sheet conveyance direction;
• and
• a moving unit arranged on the apparatus main body, configured to move the fixing unit from a first position to a second position, wherein the moving unit includes an urging portion configured to provide a force urging the fixing unit toward the second position from the first position,
• wherein, with the opening and closing member in the closed position, movement of the fixing unit from the first position to the second position is restricted, and
• wherein, with the opening and closing member in the opened position, movement of the fixing unit by the moving unit is allowed.
