Protection Against Physical Damage to Electric Vehicle Charging Cables

An electric vehicle charging station, comprising:

• a charging port to connect a charging cable;
• a current control device to control current flowing on a power line through the charging cable;
• and
• the charging cable including:
• a core that includes,
• a plurality of power conductors,
• a ground conductor,
• one or more signal conductors,
• a plurality of hard metal cordages within the charging cable, and
• a plurality of cut resistant plastic cordages that are positioned about the plurality of hard metal cordages respectively, and
• a cable jacket that directly surrounds the core.
