Abstract
Provided is a method for performing a random access procedure by an Ambient IoT terminal. The method may include: receiving random access type indication information from a reader device; determining a random access type based on the random access type indication information; and starting the random access procedure according to the random access type.

A method for performing a random access procedure by an Ambient Internet of Things (IoT) terminal, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a reader device, random access type indication information;
- determining a random access type based on the random access type indication information;
- and
- starting the random access procedure according to the random access type.
A method for performing a random access procedure by a reader device, the method comprising:
- transmitting random access type indication information to an Ambient Internet of Things (IoT) terminal;
- and
- starting the random access procedure according to a random access type determined based on the random access type indication information.
An Ambient Internet of Things (IoT) terminal for performing a random access procedure, comprising:
- a transmitter;
- a receiver;
- and
- a controller configured to control operations of the transmitter and the receiver,
- wherein the controller is configured to receive random access type indication information from a reader device, determine a random access type based on the random access type indication information, and start performing the random access procedure according to the random access type.
