Uplink transmit power limit adjustment for ack-carrying traffic

An apparatus for adjusting an uplink power limit, the apparatus comprising one or more processors communicatively coupled to a memory storing instructions, the one or more processors configured to:

• determine a first uplink transmit power limit for a first transmit time interval that includes one or more uplink acknowledgements (ACKs) corresponding to received downlink data based on at least one regulatory power limit and excluding a non-regulatory device performance power limit;
• determine a second uplink transmit power limit for a second transmit time interval that does not include an uplink ACK corresponding to received downlink data based on both the at least one regulatory power limit and the non-regulatory device performance power limit;
• and
• configure an uplink transmission for at least the first and second transmit time intervals in accordance with the determined first and second uplink transmit power limits.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions for adjusting an uplink power limit, the instructions comprising:

• instructions for determining a first uplink transmit power limit for a first transmit time interval that includes one or more uplink acknowledgements (ACKs) corresponding to received downlink data based on at least one regulatory power limit and excluding a non-regulatory device performance power limit;
• instructions for determining a second uplink transmit power limit for a second transmit time interval that does not include an uplink ACK corresponding to received downlink data based on both the at least one regulatory power limit and the non-regulatory device performance power limit;
• and
• instructions for configuring an uplink transmission for at least the first and second transmit time intervals in accordance with the determined first and second uplink transmit power limits.
