Method and apparatus for implementing service area restriction

A method for implementing service area restriction, performed by a network device, comprising:

• sending service area restriction information to a terminal;
• and
• performing a service area restriction rule on the terminal according to the service area restriction information, in response to receiving a signaling sent by the terminal,
• wherein the service area restriction information comprises tracking area identities (TAIs) of a registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) and TAIs of at least one equivalent registered public land mobile network (eRPLMN).

A terminal, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory storing a computer program executable by the processor,
• wherein the processor is configured to:
• perform a service area restriction rule in response to receiving service area restriction information sent by a network device;
• wherein the service area restriction information comprises tracking area identities (TAIs) of a registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) and TAIs of at least one equivalent registered public land mobile network (eRPLMN).
