Abstract
A system and process for coordinating streaming content or messages is provided. A network-connected server maintains a database containing media content-related data, such as the text of a message, accompanying media, time of airing, payment, and related comments. A user can view these feeds or streams of these consciousness messages by downloading a mobile application or browsing to a website. The application can also be used to create, schedule, and pay for a media content message.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising a mobile application, the mobile application configured to be executable on a mobile device, the mobile application including computer-readable instructions that, when executed via one or more processors of the mobile device, cause the mobile device to:
- provide a message creation user interface accessible to a user of the mobile application when the mobile application is executed on the mobile device, the message creation user interface configured to enable creation of a video message including at least a portion of a video captured via a camera of the mobile device;
- transmit the video message to one or more servers, wherein the one or more servers are configured to store the video message with other video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein one or more of the stored video messages are associated with expiration information to determine when the one or more of the stored video messages can no longer be included in a feed;
- receive, from the one or more servers, a feed including a subset of video messages from among the stored video messages, wherein the one or more servers select the subset of video messages based at least in part on the expiration information;
- receive, from the one or more servers, a notification message indicating that a second mobile application executing on a second mobile device has initiated a live stream of a live video message generated via the second mobile application;
- and
- provide a message viewing user interface accessible to the user of the mobile application when the mobile application is executed on the mobile device, the message viewing user interface configured to:
- present, within the message viewing user interface, the feed including the subset of video messages selected by the one or more servers;
- present, within the message viewing user interface, a push notification based on the notification message received from the one or more servers;
- enable generation, for transmission to the one or more servers, of a request for receipt of the live stream of the live video message in response to user interaction with the push notification via the message viewing user interface;
- and
- present, within the message viewing user interface, the live stream of the live video message received at the mobile device from the one or more servers.
A system, comprising:
- one or more servers comprising memory, the memory including first computer-readable instructions that, when executed via one or more processors of the one or more servers, cause the one or more servers to:
- receive, from a mobile device, a video message created via a mobile application executable on the mobile device;
- store the video message with other video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein one or more of the stored video messages are associated with expiration information to determine when the one or more of the stored video messages can no longer be included in a feed;
- select, for inclusion in a feed, a subset of video messages from among the stored video messages, wherein selection of the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based at least in part on the expiration information;
- transmit, to the mobile device, the feed including the subset of video messages selected by the one or more servers;
- transmit, to the mobile device, a notification message indicating that a second mobile application executable on a second mobile device has initiated a live stream of a live video message generated via the second mobile application;
- and
- transmit the live stream of the live video message to the mobile device in response to receiving, from the mobile device, a request for receipt of the live stream of the live video message;
- and
- a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising the mobile application, the mobile application configured to be executable on the mobile device, the mobile application including second computer-readable instructions that, when executed via one or more processors of the mobile device, cause the mobile device to:
- provide a message creation user interface accessible to a user of the mobile application when the mobile application is executed on the mobile device, the message creation user interface configured to enable creation of the video message, the video message including at least a portion of a video captured via a camera of the mobile device;
- and
- provide a message viewing user interface accessible to the user of the mobile application when the mobile application is executed on the mobile device, the message viewing user interface configured to:
- present, within the message viewing user interface, the feed including the subset of video messages selected by the one or more servers;
- present, within the message viewing user interface, a push notification based on the notification message received from the one or more servers;
- enable generation, for transmission to the one or more servers, of the request for receipt of the live stream of the live video message in response to user interaction with the push notification via the message viewing user interface;
- and
- present, within the message viewing user interface, the live stream of the live video message received at the mobile device from the one or more servers.
