Metadata communication by a memory device

A memory system, comprising:

• a first memory die;
• a second memory die;
• and
• one or more controllers coupled with the first memory die and the second memory die, the one or more controllers configured to cause the memory system to:
• combine first metadata from the first memory die and second metadata from the second memory die into a set of metadata;
• generate error detection bits for the set of metadata comprising the first metadata from the first memory die and the second metadata from the second memory die;
• transmit, over a metadata pin shared by the first memory die and the second memory die, the set of metadata comprising the first metadata from the first memory die and the second metadata from the second memory die;
• and
• transmit, over the metadata pin, the error detection bits for the set of metadata comprising the first metadata from the first memory die and the second metadata from the second memory die.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code, the code comprising instructions executable by one or more processors to cause a memory system to:

• combine first metadata from a first memory die and second metadata from a second memory die into a set of metadata;
• generate error detection bits for the set of metadata comprising the first metadata from the first memory die and the second metadata from the second memory die;
• transmit, over a metadata pin shared by the first memory die and the second memory die, the set of metadata comprising the first metadata from the first memory die and the second metadata from the second memory die;
• and
• transmit, over the metadata pin, the error detection bits for the set of metadata comprising the first metadata from the first memory die and the second metadata from the second memory die.
