A dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) device that includes different bank groups of DRAM cells and a power distribution circuit configured to provide power to the different bank groups of DRAM cells. The DRAM device is configured to receive activate commands from a memory interface circuit of a computer system, and activate a respective row of DRAM cells in response to receiving a given activate command. The power distribution circuit is configured to supply power to the different bank groups of DRAM cells in order to meet a set of timing specifications for activate commands that includes a two-activate timing window having a first time period (tTAW) during which no more than two activate commands are generated by the memory interface circuit. During the two-activate timing window, a memory interface circuit ensures that no more than two activates are generated to the DRAM device.
