Abstract
An image forming apparatus on which an initial state cartridge, which is a cartridge with a seal member attached, is installable includes a removal unit configured to perform an operation of removing one or more seal members of one or more initial state cartridges installed, and a notification unit configured to, in a case where the removal unit fails to remove the one or more seal members, make a notification of information that at least one of the installed initial state cartridges is to be uninstalled from the image forming apparatus.

An image forming apparatus on which an initial state cartridge, which is a cartridge with a seal member attached, is installable, the image forming apparatus comprising at least one memory and at least one processor, and/or at least one circuit which function as:
- a removal unit configured to perform an operation of removing one or more seal members of one or more initial state cartridges installed, and
- a notification unit configured to, in a case where the removal unit fails to remove the one or more seal members, make a notification of information that at least one of the installed initial state cartridges is to be uninstalled from the image forming apparatus.
A method of controlling an image forming apparatus on which an initial state cartridge, which is a cartridge with a seal member attached, is installable, the method comprising:
- a removal step of removing one or more seal members of one or more initial state cartridges installed;
- and
- a notification step of, in a case where the one or more seal members fail to be removed in the removal step, making a notification of information that at least one of the installed initial state cartridges is to be uninstalled from the image forming apparatus.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program which functions in an image forming apparatus on which an initial state cartridge, which is a cartridge with a seal member attached, is installable, the program causing the image forming apparatus to function as:
- a removal unit configured to perform an operation of removing one or more seal members of one or more initial state cartridges installed, and
- a notification unit configured to, in a case where the removal unit fails to remove the one or more seal members, make a notification of information that at least one of the installed initial state cartridges is to be uninstalled from the image forming apparatus.
