Dissolution of manganese oxides in a wellbore

A method for dissolving manganese oxides, the method comprises:

• providing a treatment fluid comprising:
• an activator selected from the group consisting of hydroxylamine, isopropyl hydroxylamine, ethanolamine, amino alcohols, salts thereof, and combinations thereof,
• an acid and/or acid-generating agent, and
• an aqueous base fluid;
• introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore;
• and
• contacting a manganese oxide in the wellbore with the treatment fluid.

A system for dissolving manganese oxides, the system comprises:

• a treatment fluid comprising:
• an activator selected from the group consisting of hydroxylamine, isopropyl hydroxylamine, ethanolamine, amino alcohols, salts thereof, and combinations thereof,
• an acid and/or acid-generating agent, and
• an aqueous base fluid;
• mixing equipment configured to mix the activator, the acid and/or acid-generating agent, and the aqueous base fluid;
• and
• pumping equipment configured to pump the treatment fluid in the wellbore to contact a manganese oxide in the wellbore.
