Swivel device for connecting human and/or non-human cargo to a rotorcraft

A swivel device that is configured for connecting human and/or non-human cargo to a rotorcraft, comprising:

• a first mechanical coupling device that is configured for being connected to the rotorcraft;
• a second mechanical coupling device that is configured for being connected to the human and/or non-human cargo;
• and
• a swivel arrangement that couples the first mechanical coupling device with the second mechanical coupling device, wherein the swivel arrangement comprises a first load transfer component and a second load transfer component, wherein the first load transfer component rotatably couples the first mechanical coupling device with the second mechanical coupling device in normal operation mode of the swivel arrangement to provide for a primary load path that is configured for load transfer between the second mechanical coupling device and the first mechanical coupling device via the first load transfer component in the normal operation mode, and wherein the second load transfer component couples the first mechanical coupling device with the second mechanical coupling device in an emergency operation mode of the swivel arrangement which results from a failure in the primary load path to provide for a secondary redundant load path that is configured for load transfer between the second mechanical coupling device and the first mechanical coupling device in the emergency operation mode.
