Liquid discharge apparatus

A liquid discharge apparatus comprising:

• a pressure chamber substrate provided with a pressure chamber communicating with a nozzle through which liquid is discharged;
• a diaphragm provided on the pressure chamber substrate;
• a piezoelectric element provided on the diaphragm and having a piezoelectric layer interposed between two electrodes;
• and
• a control section that controls driving of the piezoelectric element,
• the piezoelectric element being driven by the control section to apply a pressure to liquid in the pressure chamber to discharge the liquid through the nozzle, wherein
• a natural vibration period of the pressure chamber at a minimum voltage which is applied to the piezoelectric element is smaller than a natural vibration period of the pressure chamber at a maximum voltage which is applied to the piezoelectric element.

A liquid discharge apparatus comprising:

• a pressure chamber substrate provided with a pressure chamber communicating with a nozzle through which liquid is discharged;
• a diaphragm provided on the pressure chamber substrate;
• a piezoelectric element provided on the diaphragm and having a piezoelectric layer interposed between two electrodes;
• and
• a control section that controls driving of the piezoelectric element,
• the piezoelectric element being driven by the control section to apply a pressure to liquid in the pressure chamber to discharge the liquid through the nozzle, wherein
• a resonance frequency of the piezoelectric element at a minimum voltage which is applied to the piezoelectric element is higher than a resonance frequency of the piezoelectric element at a maximum voltage which is applied to the piezoelectric element.
