Creation of Electro-Anatomical Mappings of Cardiac Tissue At Different Depths

A system comprising:

• one or more processors in communication with a plurality of electrodes of a multi-electrode catheter;
• a display;
• and
• a memory in communication with the display and the one or more processors;
• wherein the one or more processors are collectively configured to:
• (a) receive electrical activity from the plurality of electrodes of a multi-electrode catheter;
• (b) for each of a plurality of surface locations of cardiac tissue in a heart:
• (i) identify first electrical signals originating at a first depth;
• (ii) identifying second electrical signals originating at a second depth;
• and
• (c) based on the first electrical signals and the second electrical signals, displaying on the display at least first and second different electro-anatomical maps of the heart depicting either (i) electrical activity at the first depth and second depth, respectively, of the cardiac tissue, or (ii) scar tissue at the first depth and second depth, respectively, of the cardiac tissue.

A computer-readable storage medium comprising program code for causing a computer to:

• (a) receive electrical activity from a plurality of electrodes of a multi-electrode catheter within a heart of a patient;
• (b) for each of a plurality of surface locations of cardiac tissue in the heart:
• (i) identify first electrical signals originating at a first depth;
• (ii) identifying second electrical signals originating at a second depth;
• and
• (c) based on the first electrical signals and the second electrical signals, displaying on the display at least first and second different electro-anatomical maps of the heart depicting either (i) electrical activity at the first depth and second depth, respectively, of the cardiac tissue, or (ii) scar tissue at the first depth and second depth, respectively, of the cardiac tissue.
