A method for a thermal management system for a vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine comprising an intake tract and an exhaust tract, the vehicle further comprising at least one electric motor driven by a battery, the thermal management system further comprising a first coolant circuit coupled to each of the internal combustion engine, an electric compressor, an electric charge-air compressor arranged in the intake tract, an interior compartment heating device, and a high-temperature radiator, a second coolant circuit coupled to each of a charge-air cooler arranged in the intake tract and a low-temperature radiator, and a third coolant circuit coupled to each of the battery and at least one indirect condenser;
- the method comprising:
- heating coolant with only the electric compressor when the internal combustion engine is off;
- and
- flowing the coolant to one or more of the battery, the internal combustion engine, and the interior compartment heating device.
