Abstract
This disclosure relates to the identification of a subset of mGluR network gene CNVs that are predictive of efficacy of treatment with fasoracetam, as well as the identification of an mGluR network gene CNV that is predictive of an increased likelihood of having ADHD as well as having certain symptoms associated with ADHD.
Claims26
A method of treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in a subject, the method comprising administering fasoracetam to the subject, wherein the subject has at least one copy number variation (CNV) in a mGluR network gene selected from the group consisting of CNTN4, GRM8, MC4R, CTNNA2, SNCA, ADRA2A, GRM5, and CA8.

A method for diagnosing attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in a human subject comprising detecting in a nucleic acid sample obtained from the subject at least one CNV in a subset of mGluR network genes consisting of CNTN4, GRM8, MC4R, CTNNA2, SNCA, ADRA2A, GRM5, and CA8 by contacting the nucleic acid sample with a set of probes or primers of sufficient length and composition to detect a duplication or deletion CNV in CNTN4, GRM8, MC4R, CTNNA2, SNCA, ADRA2A, GRM5, and CA8;
- and diagnosing the subject as having ADHD when the presence of at least one CNV in the nucleic acid sample is detected.

A method for detecting copy number variations (CNVs) in a subset of metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) network genes consisting of CNTN4, GRM8, MC4R, CTNNA2, SNCA, ADRA2A, GRM5, and CA8 in a human subject comprising contacting a nucleic acid sample obtained from the subject with a set of probes or primers of sufficient length and composition to detect a duplication or deletion CNV in each of CNTN4, GRM8, MC4R, CTNNA2, SNCA, ADRA2A, GRM5, and CA8.
