A communication method comprising:

• selecting, from a plurality of slot configurations and/or a plurality of symbol configurations, a configuration of a slot and/or a symbol to be used for communication with another communication device;
• and
• communicating with the other communication device using the selected slot configuration and/or the selected symbol configuration.

A communication system comprising a first communication device and a second communication device, wherein

• the first communication device includes a control unit that selects, from a plurality of slot configurations and/or a plurality of symbol configurations, a configuration of a slot and/or a symbol to be used for communication with the second communication device and communicates with the second communication device using the selected slot configuration and/or the selected symbol configuration, and
• the second communication device includes a control unit that acquires selection information concerning the slot configuration and/or the symbol configuration selected by the first communication device and communicates with the first communication device using the acquired slot configuration and/or the acquired symbol configuration.
