Communication method and apparatus

An apparatus, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor with instructions stored thereon, wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, enable the apparatus to perform:
• transmitting first indication information to a terminal device, wherein:
• the first indication information indicates a first parameter combination,
• the first parameter combination is one of a plurality of parameter combinations,
• a quantity of the plurality of parameter combinations is less than 24,
• each parameter combination of the plurality of parameter combinations comprises values of at least two parameters in Mv, p, and a,
• the first parameter combination comprises at least two of the following:
• a first value of Mv, a first value of β, and a first value of α,
• the first parameter combination is configured to be used to determine a maximum of K0 non-zero elements for a first coefficient matrix,
• K0 is determined based on the first value of Mv, the first value of β, and the first value of α,
• the first value of α is configured to be used to determine a quantity of rows of the first coefficient matrix,
• the first value of Mv is a quantity of columns of the first coefficient matrix,
• the first value of β is a proportion of non-zero elements to all elements in the first coefficient matrix, and
• the first coefficient matrix is configured to be used to determine a precoding matrix;
• and
• receiving second indication information from the terminal device, wherein the second indication information indicates K2 non-zero elements in the first coefficient matrix, K2 is less than or equal to K0, and the indication information is determined based on a downlink reference signal.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium with instructions stored thereon, wherein the instructions, when executed at least one processor, enable the at least one processor to perform:

• transmitting first indication information to a terminal device, wherein:
• the first indication information indicates a first parameter combination,
• the first parameter combination is one of a plurality of parameter combinations,
• a quantity of the plurality of parameter combinations is less than 24,
• each parameter combination of the plurality of parameter combinations comprises values of at least two parameters in Mv, β, and α,
• the first parameter combination comprises at least two of the following:
• a first value of Mv, a first value of β, and a first value of α,
• the first parameter combination configured to be used to determine a maximum of K0 non-zero elements for a first coefficient matrix,
• K0 is determined based on the first value of Mv, the first value of β, and the first value of α;
• the first value of α is configured to be used to determine a quantity of rows of the first coefficient matrix,
• the first value of Mv is a quantity of columns of the first coefficient matrix,
• the first value of β is a proportion of non-zero elements to all elements in the first coefficient matrix, and
• the first coefficient matrix is configured to be used to determine a precoding matrix;
• and
• receiving second indication information from the terminal device, wherein the second indication information indicates K2 non-zero elements in the first coefficient matrix, K2 is less than or equal to K0, and the indication information is determined based on a downlink reference signal.
