Point cloud encoding and decoding method and device based on two-dimensional regularization plane projection

A device, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing programming, the programming including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the device to perform operations including:
• acquiring original point cloud data;
• performing two-dimensional regularization plane projection on the original point cloud data to obtain a two-dimensional projection plane structure;
• obtaining a plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information according to the two-dimensional projection plane structure;
• and
• encoding the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information to obtain code stream information;
• wherein the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information comprise a geometry information map, the geometry information map comprising a placeholder information map, and a depth information map;
• wherein the placeholder information map is used to identify whether each pixel in the two-dimensional projection plane structure is occupied;
• wherein the depth information map is used to represent a distance between a corresponding point of each occupied pixel in the two-dimensional projection plane structure and a coordinate origin;
• wherein the encoding the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information to obtain code stream information comprises:
• predicting, for a current pixel in the depth information map, by using a neighbor pixel with non-empty placeholder, to obtain a prediction residual of the current pixel in the depth information map;
• encoding, the prediction residual of the current pixel in the depth information map, to obtain a depth information code stream.

A method, comprising:

• acquiring code stream information;
• decoding the code stream information to obtain parsed data;
• reconstructing a plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information according to the parsed data;
• obtaining a two-dimensional projection plane structure according to the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information;
• and
• reconstructing a point cloud by using the two-dimensional projection plane structure;
• wherein the plurality of pieces of two-dimensional image information comprise a geometry information map, the geometry information map comprising a placeholder information map, a depth information map, a projection residual information map, and a coordinate conversion error information map;
• wherein the placeholder information map is used to identify whether each pixel in the two-dimensional projection plane structure is occupied;
• wherein the depth information map is used to represent a distance between a corresponding point of each occupied pixel in the two-dimensional projection plane structure and a coordinate origin;
• wherein the method further comprising:
• decoding a prediction residual of the current pixel in the depth information map;
• reconstructing a depth information according to the decoded prediction residual of the current pixel and a depth information predicted by using a neighbor pixel with non-empty placeholder.
