Abstract
A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, a cap plate sealing the case; and a current collector plate welded between the electrode assembly and the case or between the electrode assembly and the cap plate. The current collector plate has a slit therein.

A secondary battery comprising:
- a can;
- an electrode assembly accommodated in the can;
- and
- a current collector plate coupled to the electrode assembly,
- wherein the electrode assembly comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode,
- wherein the current collector plate comprises a body having a plurality of slits, a cantilever disposed inside each of the slits, and a center portion disposed at the center of the current collector plate, and
- wherein the cantilever is coupled to the electrode assembly.
