Hybrid asset api gateway for networked computing environment

A computer-implemented method for managing hybrid asset representations, comprising:

• receiving, via an API gateway, an asset registration request from an issuer, wherein the asset registration request includes asset metadata comprising asset class, attributes, economic value, and legal structure;
• creating, in response to the asset registration request, a digital representation of an asset and a unique asset identifier;
• storing the digital representation and the unique asset identifier in a digital depot module, wherein the digital depot module maintains a transactional ledger that records every asset-related event as an immutable transaction;
• receiving, via the API gateway, a request to issue ownership units of the asset;
• determining, based on issuer input, whether to represent the ownership units as traditional securities or blockchain-based digital tokens;
• creating the ownership units in the selected representation format;
• and
• recording the issuance of the ownership units in an immutable digital register, wherein balances for accounts or wallets are computed on demand by aggregating historical transactions to ensure all balances are fully auditable and backed by verifiable events.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations for facilitating hybrid asset management, the operations comprising:

• receiving, via a standardized API gateway, an asset registration request from an issuer;
• creating a digital representation of an asset with a unique asset identifier;
• storing the digital representation in a digital depot module that implements a transactional ledger model;
• determining, based on issuer input, whether to represent ownership units as traditional securities or blockchain-based digital tokens;
• creating the ownership units in the selected representation format through either securities account entries or token contract deployment;
• and
• recording all asset lifecycle events in an immutable digital register that maintains a comprehensive audit trail supporting compliance checks, regulatory reporting, and integration with downstream services.
