Using generative artificial intelligence to summarize operational characteristics of a security system

A security system comprising:

• a user interface;
• one or more memories for storing one or more event logs that each include one or more log entries that each log an event occurring in the security system;
• a controller operatively coupled to the user interface and the one or more memories, the controller configured to:
• receive from the user interface a natural language query from a user requesting one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system;
• submit the natural language query to a Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen-AI) model, wherein the Gen-AI model:
• identifies two or more log entries captured in the one or more event logs that are relevant to calculating the one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system;
• calculates the one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system based at least in part on the identified two or more log entries;
• and
• store a summary that includes the one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system to the user.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that when executed by one or more processors causes the one or more processors to:

• receive from a user interface a natural language query from a user requesting one or more summarized operational characteristics of a security system;
• submit the natural language query to a Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen-AI) model, wherein the Gen-AI model:
• identifies two or more log entries captured in one or more event logs that are relevant to calculating the one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system;
• and
• calculates the one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system based at least in part on the identified two or more log entries;
• and
• store a summary that includes the one or more summarized operational characteristics of the security system to the user.
