Method of manufacturing a half shell as well as wind turbine rotor blade

A method of manufacturing a half shell of a wind turbine rotor blade, the method comprising:

• providing a mold;
• arranging an outer shell laminate in the mold;
• arranging a first spar cap on the outer shell laminate;
• arranging a second spar cap on the outer shell laminate;
• arranging a third spar cap on the outer shell laminate;
• wherein the second spar cap is arranged between the first spar cap and the third spar cap;
• wherein the third spar cap is positioned at an outermost trailing edge;
• and,
• wherein a plurality of core elements are arranged at least at one of:
• between the first spar cap and the second spar cap,
• between the second spar cap and the third spar cap, and,
• between the first spar cap and the third spar cap;
• and,
• wherein at least one of the plurality of core elements is a tolerance compensation element that includes a wedge-formed portion and interacts in a form-fit manner with a corresponding counter wedge-formed portion.
