Packaging tray and multi-function micro-fluidic assembly having same

A tray comprising:

• a first compartment configured for stacking a plurality of disc assemblies, wherein the first compartment is substantially circular and comprises:
• (i) a stepped support comprising a plurality of steps along an axial direction of the first compartment and configured for accommodating a corresponding disc assembly in the plurality of disc assemblies that is characterized by a corresponding diameter in a plurality of diameters;
• (ii) at least one axial retaining member formed at or adjacent to each respective step in the plurality of steps and configured for preventing undesired movement of the corresponding disc assembly in the plurality of disc assemblies in the axial direction when the corresponding disc assembly in the plurality of disc assemblies is placed in the first compartment, the at least one axial retaining members being circumferentially staggered with respect to each other;
• and
• (iii) at least one angular retaining member formed at or adjacent to each respective step in the plurality of steps and configured for preventing undesired rotation of the corresponding disc assembly in the plurality of disc assemblies around an axis of the first compartment when the corresponding disc assembly in the plurality of disc assemblies is placed in the first compartment.
